Patricia Lucille Bowen, born October 31, 1942, to her wonderful parents, Alfred and Mary (Cox)
McNickles in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. She left this mortal world April 9, 2017, at the age of 74. She attended
Leon High School and Modern School of Cosmetology. She married the love of her life Leroy Bowen on August 4, 1973. He
graciously took in seven children over the years and their close and loving family was blessed with two more. She worked
and enjoyed being a hairstylist for over 40 years. Pat loved and served her family and friends with all of her heart.
She felt there was good in everyone and brought the best out of everyone she met. Her family was especially blessed
to call her sweetie, mom and granny but even if you weren't family she made you feel like you were. Some of her best
times were at the lake with her family, getting together and preparing delicious meals for her family and friends, visiting
with and making her ladies look beautiful, grandkid sleepovers and traveling with her husband. Helping others and reaching
out to those in need is what brought her the most happiness. Overall, Pat was an amazing person who loved her Heavenly
Father and showed this over and over through her good works. She is survived by her husband, Leroy, and eight children starting
with Chuck and Jean McDowell of Pleasantview, Utah; Gregg McDowell of Douglass, KS; Dale and Tammy Cox of Wichita, KS; Melisa
and David Gannon of Augusta, KS; Donna and Stephen Richins of Rigby, ID; Angie and Shawn Czaplinski of Arkansas City, KS;
Todd and Megan Bowen of Valley Center, KS; Troy and Ashley Bowen of Wichita, KS. She joyfully had 29 grandchildren and
13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Brown; and granddaughter Catherine Patricia Cox-Fry.
