Max Walter Spivey, 92, of Wichita, and formerly of Rosalia
area, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in El Dorado. Visitation Friday 6-8 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta.
Service 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at The Benton Church, Benton, Kansas. Burial will follow at Towanda Cemetery, Towanda,
Kansas. Max was born in Leon, Kansas on December 27, 1924, to the late Mary (Easley) and Oscar Spivey. He was a Cat Unit
worker at Skelly Oil Refinery and retired from Getty. His passion was farming and he loved raising cattle. On September 9,
1944 he married Helen Louise (Gardner) Spivey in El Dorado. She preceded him in death on Sep. 8, 2013. He was also preceded
in death by his daughter, Janice Lynn (Spivey) Albertson; and a granddaughter, Ali Jo Albertson; and other brothers and sisters.
He is survived by: daughter, Kynda Wiltshire and husband Merv of Wichita; sons, Roger Spivey of Sarasota, Florida; and Kurt
Spivey and wife Michelle of El Dorado; son-in-law, Mitch Albertson of Towanda; sister, Faye Dutton of El Dorado; brother,
Kenneth Spivey and wife Rosemary of Leon; 10 grandchildren and 25 great grand grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
