John  Alan Rogers, 52, of Wichita, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 in Wichita. Memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be 7 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2017, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. John was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 4, 1964, to Diane (Wynn) Rose and William Alan Rogers. He graduated from William R. Boone High School in Orlando, FL and also served in the U.S. Army. John  graduated with honors from Fort Hays University in Kansas. He worked in the telecommunications field at Siemens in Florida for 15 years and currently as a telecommunications engineer at Kansas Fiber Network. Johns passion was the K-9 search and rescue work and training as a search and rescue dog trainer. He is survived by: mother  and step father, Diane and Steve Rose of Winter Park, FL; brother, Will Rogers of Maitland, FL; sister, Karen Olivier of Boerne, TX; former wife Debra Rogers of Augusta; grandchildren, Sonny and Elizabeth; and a niece and nephew, Sydney and Bevan. He was preceded in death by his father, and a daughter, Amanda Rogers. Memorial donations to K-9 Search and Rescue of Kansas, 2700 North Parkdale, Wichita, KS 67205.
