Linda Gale Kunkel, 73, mom, grandma, and great grandmother, of Augusta, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 in Harlingen, Texas. Visitation Tuesday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Service 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. Linda was born in Conway, Arkansas on January 8, 1945, to the late Loree (Oliver) and Jeff Davis Jobe. She graduated from Wichita West High School in 1963. Linda worked as a secretary and agent at State Farm Insurance, Augusta. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Outstanding Young Women of America and the First Baptist Church. To know her was to love her. She enjoyed shopping, craft projects, dancing, playing cards, and her bible study group. She was a strong believer in Jesus Christ, family and friends. She truly loved spending time with her grandkids and cherished her dogs. Linda's  favorite was getting her family together for meals and holidays. On January 20, 1962 she married Gary  Kunkel in Wichita. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2014 after 52 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Brad and Bob Jobe; sisters Ann Williams and Betty Chapman and a great grandson, Hayden Pilant. She is survived by: daughter, Christina Heatwole of Augusta; son, James Kunkel and wife Angela of Wichita; daughter, Candace Kunkel of Augusta; brother, Billy Jobe and wife Lois of Copeland; grandchildren, Kaysie Pilant, Chase Andrews, Jessica Kunkel and Kayden Kunkel, Tevin and Ciara Kendall;  and great grandchildren, Kynzie and Korbyn Rogers and Dallas Andrews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Center of Kansas - El Dorado 700 W. Central, Ste. 109  El Dorado, KS 67042 or First Baptist Church 1501 State Street Augusta, Kansas 67010.
