Mary Lou Ashcraft, 90, of Augusta, KS, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Service 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018, at First Christian Church, Augusta, KS. Mary was born in Cambridge, KS on July 16, 1927, to the late Annabelle (Higgins)  and Alfred R.  Brown. She worked as an eye glass technician at Drs. Crum and Todd.  She was a member of many organizations including P.E.O., Junior Forum,  and the D.A.R.  She was also active at First Christian Church, Augusta, and was a member of the C.W.F., the choir, and a prayer group. On October 6, 1945 she married James Templar Ashcraft in Tyler, TX who survives her. She is also survived by: daughters, Kathryn Shumard and husband Ron of Augusta, KS, Diane Staggs and husband Mike of Branson, MO, Becky Williamson and husband Larry of Augusta, KS; brother, Lynn  Brown and wife Bunny of Overland Park, KS; sister, Barbara Ledgerwood, of Durango, CO; grandchildren, Kara Seat, Logan James and husband Luke, Jayna Williamson, Aaron Staggs and wife Jackie, Matthew Williamson; 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret A. Burge, Flossie Walker; brothers, Lamar Brown, A.R. Brown, Jr., and Wallace Brown; grandson, Sean Tolle.
