Barbara Jean Gaffney

Barbara Jean Gaffney, 84, of Andover, KS, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023. Graveside service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS.
Barbara was born on January 16, 1939 to Fern Walter and Thelma (Hon) Brougher on a farm northwest of Howard. She attended Union Center Grade School, and graduated from  Howard High School in 1956. She attended business school for a short time. She retired from the Augusta Medical Complex (now Regional) in 1996 as an insurance clerk. Barbara enjoyed traveling to Nevada, Arizona, and Montana with her husband.
On October 14, 1961 she married Lyle H. Gaffney. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Brougher; sister, Betty Bolt; niece Sandra Bolt; dogs, Mitzi, Spuds, and Lacee.
She is survived by: son, Brett Gaffney and wife Deanna of Wichita, KS; nephew, Larry Bolt.
