She was a homemaker most of her life while her children were at home. She was very attentive to them and always wanted them near her. She was the Momma that always had her arms outstretched for all the cousins and kids at church and the neighborhood.
Corene was a strong willed woman who survived cancer and many other health obstacles. She worked with her husband and supported him in their construction company. They always wanted to be together and still held hands and kissed each other before their kids.
Corene viewed life as an adventure and always wanted to keep learning. She worked at Susan B hospital as a housekeeper along the side of her sister Jewel. Mom seemed like her calling could have been a nurse. She delivered our cousin at home and when Dad had to have dialysis, she was able to do the whole process in their home.
Mom was a great cook and many people enjoyed her pies that she made for Monterey Day and for the Bits of BBQ restaurant. She was so creative, sewing, crocheting and working outside in the yard. One of her accomplishments that she enjoyed was her fish pond that she dug and built herself.
The greatest accomplishment Mom would want you to know about her though, is her passion for Christ Jesus. She was committed to Jesus, to prayer, and to the Church. A true warrior that has gone on to her greatest adventure yet!
