Corky Condon, officially 'Clyde Addison Condon', 62, of Douglass, KS, passed away on June 26, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Corky was born on March 12, 1960, to the late Ennis "Ike" & Dora "Dee" (Edwards) Condon in Winfield, Kansas.
Corky graduated Douglass High School in 1978 and met the love of his life, Debbie Bergley Condon, the summer after. He proposed when Debbie was only 17 years old and this love story would become the most important thing in his life. Corky married Debbie on July 18, 1981. Deeply in love and inseparable, they would actively seek out adventures and looked forward to a long and happy life together. In 1983 & 1985, they had two sons, Travis and Tyler, who have consistently provided endless love, laughter and headaches. Corky was extremely proud of both of his boys and valued family above all.
Corky was committed to his career in the aircraft industry as a manufacturing engineer for many years. He was promoted multiple times due to his hard work and dedication. He was proud of his work, provided for his family and mostly cherished the countless friendships he made along the way.
Family meant the most to Corky. He loved fiercely and deeply. He made everyone feel important and understood. Corky described 'perfect happiness' as time with family and didn't limit family to blood. He loved so many. The biggest joy in his life was being a grandparent. He loved being outdoors, cooking on his smoker, and partaking in a glass of rum and coke. He was a nurturer, jammed to ZZ top, and will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie, his sons Travis Condon and wife Bobbi Sue (Douglass, KS), and Tyler Condon and wife Kirbie (Wichita, KS); Grandchildren, Jalaina, Oliver, Stella, Adrian, Lincoln, Willow; brothers, Terry Condon and wife Connie, and Jeff Condon; and sister, Dora Etter, (Douglass, KS) as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends who loved him dearly.
A service to celebrate Corky's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Douglass United Methodist Church, Douglass, KS. Burial will follow at Douglass Cemetery Douglass, KS. Donations can be made to the City of Douglass to be used for the Park Fund. Mail to Headley Funeral Chapel, 813 State Street, Augusta, KS 67010.
