Eddie Joe Evans

Eddie Joe Evans, 76, of Augusta, KS, left his earthly body for his eternal life Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield, KS. Visitation: Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 14, 2022, with the meet and greet beginning at 1 p.m. and services at 2 p.m. at the Augusta Church of Christ. Burial with military honors will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS.

Eddie was born in Wichita, KS on Friday the 13th, September 1946, to the late Uvah (Renard) and John Evans. He graduated in 1965 then served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Vietnam. He was married to Connie Tucker from 1968-1975. He later worked as a jig builder at Cessna for over 40 years, receiving his 40-year ring. Eddie was a member of the Augusta Church of Christ for many years. He also worked in prison ministry and drove the Joy bus for many years for the church. On September 1, 1990, he married Sandra Sue Rollins of Augusta KS, and she survives him.
He is also survived by: daughters, Stephanie Ashlock and husband Gary, Nicole Evans, Donna Bates and husband Jake; Ronda Lemke and husband David; son, Daren Bannon and wife Mary; grandchildren Karah, Rikki, Brandyn, Elexis, Chase, Samantha and John, Logan, Gordon, Duncan; 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by: nieces and nephews, Stacy Lester and husband Rob, Jamie Evans and wife Amanda, Holly Evans, and Mike Evans and wife Brandy; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Evans and his wife Sandy Gore Evans.
