Emmit Wilson "Bill" Spaulding, 93, of Augusta, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 in Augusta. Visitation will be Sunday 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Private graveside at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Bill was born in Springville, TN on February 7, 1925, to the late Addie Lee (Stagner) and Rolla Wilson Spaulding. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Bill retired as a steel worker at Armco Steel in Kansas City, MO. Bill enjoyed sharing his love for crappie fishing. In 1947 he married Edith May (Keeling) in Mississippi. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sammie Maddox. He is survived by: daughter, Deborah and husband Dr. David Lehr of Wichita, KS; sister, Martha Ross and husband Lee of Independence, MO; grandchildren Carrie Voth and husband Jeff and Abbie Frank and husband Kison; and 8 great grandchildren. Memorial donations to Augusta Senior Center or the Augusta Memorial V.F.W. Post 6746.
