Ernest L. "Leroy" Gray

Ernest L. "Leroy" Gray, age 96, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Wichita, KS.  Leroy was born in Keighley, Kansas April 15, 1928, the son of the late William Leroy and Carrie B. (Ades) Gray. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rosa Elliot, and brothers, Edwin, Delbert, and Harley.

His first wife, Dorothy (Broadstock) preceded him in death in 1976 and on April 20, 1977, he married Audrey (Wendt Drouillard) celebrating 31 years of marriage before her death in 2008. Leroy worked for many years in the oil refining business in El Dorado retiring from the Texaco Refinery and was a member of the Lakecrest Bible Baptist Church, Augusta.

Prior to moving to Reflection Ridge Retirement Community, Leroy enjoyed yardwork at his rural Augusta home and fishing trips to Minnesota.

He is survived by son, Donald (Lisa) Gray, Wichita and daughter, Mary Holliday of Springfield, MO and five grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, February 3 at 11:00 AM at Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, 725 S. Boyer RD, El Dorado, KS.

Memorial donations may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 330 N. Broadway St., Wichita, KS, 67202 television ministry which he enjoyed watching after his move to Wichita.
