Gary Willard Parks, 82, of Rose Hill, KS, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022 at home. Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Augusta United Methodist Church, Augusta, KS. Gary was born in Emporia, KS on November 7, 1939, to the late Eva Mary (Heckendorn) and O.W. "Doc" Parks. He was an educator for 17 years for both high school and college. Gary had also been the Director of Tolls for the Kansas Turnpike. He was a member of the Augusta United Methodist Church for many years as well as an active member of the South Central Emporia State Alumni Association. Gary enjoyed watching sports especially WSU baseball and basketball. He also enjoyed horses and going to the rodeo, camping, and attending the state fair every year. He especially enjoyed going to all of his grandchildren and great grandchild's activities. On August 22, 1965 he married Susan (Seyb) Parks in Johnson, KS and she survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, Tiffany Keyser and husband Larry; grandchildren, Haley Johnson, and Nate Johnson (Mary); great granddaughter, Gracelynn Denice; brother, Dean Parks; brothers in law, Steven Seyb (Cynthia), Spencer Seyb (Jeanne), and Stacy Seyb (Jane); 11 nieces and nephews.
