Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Borger

Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Borger, 80, of Augusta, KS, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at home. Memorial service 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018, at First Christian Church, Augusta, KS. Private inurnment will take place at Camp Tawakoni, Augusta, KS. Jerry was born in El Dorado, KS on April 10, 1938 to the late Nellie Pearl (Noble) and Harold Joseph Borger. Jerry graduated from El Dorado High School in 1956. He later attended El Dorado Junior College, and following that he received his bachelors degree from Wichita University in 1961. He was an electrician for most of his life, and worked as a stockbroker for a few years as well. Jerry was also a ham radio operator (W0RGB). He was faithful member of First Christian Church of Augusta. On June 27, 1965 he married Carol (Ayres) Borger at Central Baptist Church in Augusta, KS. She survives him. He is also survived by: son, Darren Borger of Augusta, KS; daughter, Heather Smith and husband Shelby of Augusta, KS;  brother, Larry Borger and wife Marilyn of Littleton, CO; sister in law, Deborah Borger of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Valarie Gault, Wendy MacAdam (Alex), Sean Davis (Jessica), Ellis, Mason, Merritt, Olivia, Paisley, Remington, Scarlett, Truman, and Lincoln Smith; great grandchildren, Jewel Gault, Ethan Friedel, Hope Friedel, Piper MacAdam; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Cris Borger; and daughter in law, Donna Borger. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to First Christian Church 1600 State Street Augusta, Kansas 67010.
