James W. Reid

James W. Reid, 74, of Rose Hill, KS, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023. James was born in Concordia, KS on February 16, 1949, to Alice (McKain) and Robert E. Reid. Jim was the oldest of seven children and grew up in Andover, KS. He was in the U.S. Army and later worked at Case in Wichita, KS. Jim was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and a 4th Degree Knight in the Mark K. Carroll Assembly. He loved his family and never missed a family gathering. Jim collected Matchbox toys and enjoyed going to toy shows.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don and Jack; and sisters-in-law, Anita Reid and Marlyse Dutton. He is survived by: brothers, Robert Reid (Teresa) and John Reid; sisters, Roberta Reid and Betty Reid; sister-in-law, Kim Reid; nephews, Tim Reid and Jeremiah Estill (Melissa); nieces, Anastasia Gottlieb (Adam), Angela Wilkinson (Trevor), and Lacy Estill; aunt, Lucy Embrey (Kenneth).
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass following at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Andover, KS. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita, KS.
