James West

James West, 79, of Douglass, KS, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at home. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018  and service 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at  Douglass Cemetery, Douglass, KS. James was born in Muskogee, OK on May 26, 1939, to the late Velma Cleeton and Joe West. He served in the U.S. Army. James later worked as an inspector at Beech/Raytheon for 40 years. James enjoyed fishing. In 1976 he married Bertha (Maness) in Wichita who survives him. He is also survived by: sons, Craig West (Cristina) of Wichita, KS, and Jason West (Kayla) of Douglass, KS; 3 grandsons, 4 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Oleta Belveal. The family requests casual attire for those attending.
