Jeffrey Wayne Housby

Jeffrey Wayne Housby, 67, of Wichita, Kansas left us to join the love of his life, Amelia Ann (Goodman) on June 24, 2024. The two married on January 29, 1975 in Wichita, Kansas where they made their first home.

Jeff was born is Wichita, Kansas to Halim and Betty Jane (Betts) on December 12, 1956. He is survived by three of his siblings, David and wife Joyce Housby, Robin Valentine, and Dianna Deiss. Two siblings, Michael and Larry, preceded him in death.

Jeff's employment in his earlier years as an arborist for Wright's Tree Service, Asplundh and Davey Tree afforded him the opportunity to live in several states, including Virgina, Michigan, Colorado and Texas. His wife and two children learned to keep up with their ramblin' man. His favorite state of residence was Colorado where his love of fishing, hunting and camping could grow in beautiful surroundings. He later worked at Cessna and Kansas Aviation in Independence, Kansas.

Jeff's love of nature extended to gardening during part of his life and he happily shared his produce with neighbors, friends and coworkers. He also enjoyed nature from the seat of his motorcycle and purchased a three-wheeled variety so Amelia would feel comfortable on rides through State Parks near their home in Copan, Oklahoma. Jeff always had a song in his head and frequently could be heard humming or singing on his way around the house or out to the garage for his latest project.

Jeff had a deep love for family and a sense of loyalty to those important in his life. Legacy was invaluable to him. He leaves behind two children, daughter, Sarah and husband Jeff Carpenter of Illinois and son, Patrick Housby of Oregon. He also leaves five grandchildren, Michael and husband Thomas, Dillon, Jace, Anthony, Henry and Jon Carpenter. They carry on his love of family, nature and motorcycles and his son and two of his grandsons see the world through the beautiful brown eyes they inherited from their Dad and Grandpa.

Jeff has been cremated as per his wishes and a celebration of life will be held at a later date with details to follow. Memorial donations may be made to St Jude or a charity of your choice.
