Jerilyn Kay Wiegert

Jerilyn Kay Wiegert, 75, of Augusta, KS, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at home. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Monday, June 25, 2018 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Central Baptist Church, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS.  Jerilyn was born in St. Joe, MO on October 13, 1942, to the late Ruth Maxine (Mattucks) and Wilbur  Wade "Bud" Wiegert.  In 1960, she graduated from Midway High School, Altoona, KS. Jerilyn  was an artist, working in oils on canvas, digital photography, and pottery. On October 15,1960 she married Michael J. Wheatley of Chanute, KS, and they were married for 27 years. She is survived by: sons, Jim Wheatley and wife Becky, and Steve  Wheatley; daughter, Kelly Slaton and husband Ben all of Augusta, KS; grandchildren, Ashley Wheatley, Alicia Lakey and husband Brad, Michael Wheatley, Meghan Jorgensen and husband Matt, Lindsey Shaults and husband Kyle, Daniel Slaton and wife Katilyn, Cassidy Wheatley and Jordan Resa, Greg Slaton, Nathaniel Wheatley, Jake Wheatley, Gabrielle Wheatley; great grandchildren, Clayton Windholz, Tucker McConaghie, Kami Windholz, Kaylee McConaghie, Sophia Lakey, Maddox Jorgensen, Miller Jorgensen; one great grandchild on the way.
