Joann Palmer

JoAnn  Palmer, 85, of Augusta, KS, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at the Augusta Church of Christ  3500 N. Ohio St., Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. There will be no visitation.

JoAnn was born on May 7, 1935 in Union City, Tenn., the fourth daughter to Willis and Kenny Mae (Hosford) Johnson. JoAnn. On Feb. 11, 1951 she married Larry  Palmer in Corinth, Miss.
JoAnn worked many years as the manager of the Kaneb Pipeline Employees Credit Union and later as a sales associate at the Lunger's downtown furniture store in Augusta. She was active in the Augusta Church of Christ and participated in the Girl Scouts for a number of years. She was a loving mother to her son and daughter, and in the 1960's, she and Larry adopted a daughter, Renee.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Larry Palmer; sister, Mildred Clubb of Niles, Mich.; son, Paul Palmer of Wichita; daughters, Belinda Larsen of Augusta; and Renee Graves of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Nick Harder, Rob McCalla, Travis Palmer, Mandy Palmer, Laryssa McCord, and Derek Anderson; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Mary Jane Carriger, Jerry Palmer, and Tom and Peggy Palmer.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Johnson and June Lewis; in-laws, Jake and Reba Palmer; granddaughters, Amy Harder Carey and Amber Palmer; grandson, Travis Larsen.
