Joe B Parker, 82, passed away on November 2, 2021 in his hometown of Augusta, Kansas. Joe was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.

Joe was born to Bret and Mary Nolan Parker on July 1, 1939 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma.  Joe met the love of his life Carolyn (Bennett) in high school and they married in August 1958.  Together they had 3 children: Mary, Laurie and David.

Joe and Carolyn moved to Kansas to look for work.  Joe hired on at the Skelly Refinery in El Dorado, KS and worked there for over 30 years.  Joe retired from Texaco as a Light Oils Unit Supervisor.

Joe loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching their sporting events.  He was a collector of guns and knives, enjoyed shooting sporting clays.  Joe was a member of the Joppa Masonic Lodge in Leon, KS.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn and his parents Bret and Mary.

Joe is survived by his children, Mary Kolb (Gilbert), Laurie Hoyt (Jerry) and David Parker (Brandon Shea), his grandchildren, Aubrey Kolb Pirtle (Jarod), Tyson Hoyt, Megan Kolb Nold (Adam), Amanda Hoyt, his great grandchildren, Cameron Pirtle, Kaylee, Dugger, Raegan Pirtle and Jonas Dugger; and sister, Cookie Summers.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on November 8, 2021 at the Hedley Funeral Chapel, 813 State St, Augusta, KS 67010.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, please donate to American Heart Association, 1861 N Rock Rd #380, Wichita, KS 67206.
