Judith "Judy" Kay Emerson French

Judith "Judy" Kay Emerson French, 63, of Augusta, KS, passed away peacefully with family at her side Saturday, July 10, 2021 in Wichita, KS. The family will hold a celebration of her life from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021, at Round Barn Ranch, 9449 S Woodlawn Blvd., Derby, KS 67037. Judy was born in Wichita, KS on July 29, 1957, to the late Ruth Gerlene "Jean" (Johnston) and John Rupp. She was a purchasing manager at Boeing for many years and later worked in car sales then as an insurance saleswoman and financial advisor.

Judy had a charismatic and vibrant personality that made her unforgettable. She loved to make life fun with an incredibly adventurous and spontaneous spirit. She never met a stranger and made friends easily. Judy was a strong woman who encouraged all women to be independent, know how to protect themselves, and "never rely on a man." She was passionate about volunteering and helping others. She volunteered for the Red Cross Disaster Action Team and Big Brother Big Sisters, among others. There are many people who regarded Judy as their "second mother" because she treated all children as her own. She enjoyed traveling with trips to multiple countries and throughout the United States. Judy loved animals and was devoted to caring for them. She fostered many dogs and helped them find a loving home, although sometimes that home was still with her. She had a talent for event planning which led to great dinner events and her children having fantastic birthday parties. Other hobbies included riding horses, playing slot machines, photography, listening to music, and reading books.

Judy was most enthusiastic about her family and she loved them dearly. She was a kind hearted and caring person who loved with her whole heart. On July 20, 2017, she married Malcolm French in Ponca City, OK who survives her. She is also survived by: daughter, Krista Yeggy and husband Matthew of Fruitport, MI; son, Eric Emerson and fiancé Nicole Cross of Mauldin, SC; brother, Gregory Rupp and wife Karen of Augusta, KS; step son, Michael French of Wichita, KS; step daughters, Molly Marshal and husband Zach of Wichita, KS, Bonnie Moore and husband Cody of Wichita, KS, Lily French and fiancé Ian Farris of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Kyla Yeggy; step granddaughter, Lucy Moore.
