Karen L. Berry

Karen Lee Berry, 61, of Augusta, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in Andover. Service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 12, 2023 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Memorial graveside committal will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Karen was born in Rochester, NY on August 12, 1961, to the late Carol (Sutton) and Robert Jackman. She grew up in Rochester, NY and moved to Mill Hall, PA and graduated high school at Bald Eagle - Nittany. Since the ninth grade she had been a Penn State University Nittany Lion fan. She attended Penn State University for a year before moving back to Rochester. While there, she attended Rochester Insitute of Technology and then the National Technical Institute for the Deaf. Karen worked as a sign language interpreter for most of her life. In 2009 she met Wayne Berry and they were married in Augusta, KS on June 19, 2010.  Wayne preceded her in death on April 12, 2014. While in Augusta, Karen volunteered for many organizations. Recently she was awarded, volunteer of the year for CERT. Karen is survived by many friends. Memorial donations to Augusta VFW Post 6746 P.
