Karla Jean Williams

Karla Jean Williams, 68, of Augusta, KS, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, in Augusta. Karla was born in Newport News, Virginia on November 21, 1953, to the late Velma Jean (Meistrell) and Carl Chester Williams. She served in the U.S. Navy working as a registered nurse. Those of us who knew and loved Karla, knew her to be a caretaker to all -- family, friends, furries, and strangers. She was a compassionate woman, strong in her convictions, a crusader against injustice and a force to be reckoned with. She was proud to be a veteran and prouder to be an American. Her knowledge, wisdom, and sound advice will be greatly missed, but we all know it is time for God to care for Karla, and he has welcomed her home with open arms.  Karla is survived by a daughter, Dasha Nichols and husband Dale; a brother, John Williams and wife Gloria; and several grandchildren.  A memorial graveside service will be held at Peppers Lake Cemetery, De Valls Bluff, Arkansas at a later date.
