Leon Hamilton

Leon Hamilton, 82, of Augusta, KS, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 in Wichita. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta. Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS (those attending, use 12th St. entrance). Leon was born in Melbourne, Arkansas (Izard County) on September 2, 1939, to the late Nova (Hare) and Neal Hamilton. He worked as a butcher for much of his life. Leon enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing pool. The most important part of his life were his family and God. On July 24, 1960 he married Linda (Hodges) Hamilton in Douglass, KS and she survives. He is also survived by: son, Gary Hamilton and wife Cheryl; daughters, Susan Kiser and Diane Briggs; grandchildren, Matthew Kiser, Melissa Kiser, Macy McCune (Branson), Vanessa Hamilton, Clayton Hamilton, Haleigh Briggs (Brady Hubbart); great grandchildren, Brogan & Weston Kiser, Ryker & River Hubbart, Brantley McCune. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Mynatt; brothers, Buddy, Bernard, and Robert Hamilton. Memorial donations to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 4400 Clayton Ave, Saint Louis, MO 63110.
