Linda Sue Spies

Linda Sue Spies, 74, of Augusta, KS, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 in Wichita. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023 and service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Graveside committal service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield, KS. Linda was born in Elsberry, MO on January 10, 1949, to the late Goldie Ruth (Holcomb) and William E.  Norvel. She worked as a heart monitor tech and unit clerk at Via Christi-St. Francis retiring after 25 years. On May 17, 1967 she married Neal Patrick Spies in Elsberry, MO and he survives her.  She is also survived by: daughter, Ruth Krug of Augusta; son, Dwane Spies and wife Mina of Augusta; son, Neal Christopher Spies and wife Kim of Rose Hill; daughter, Angie McFall of Mulhall, OK; daughter, Melinda Jabara and husband Bocheus of Wichita; daughter, Margaret Golembiewski and husband RJ of Cedar Rapids, IA; brother, John Richard Norvel and wife Barbara of Elsberry, MO; sister in law Donna Norvel of Troy, MO; grandchildren,  Noel, Gabriel, E.J., Daylen, Zane, Emma, Michael, Arin, Holley, Tyson, Haddie, Kaden, Ryker, Akira, Madeline, and Celeste; and 10 great grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her brother, William Robert "Bob" Norvel. Memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
