Lois was born in Sheldon, Missouri on January 24, 1951, to the late Dorothy Cordy (Beye) and Robert Garfield. She is survived by her husband, Clinton R. Swick; sons, Clinton D. Swick, and Robert H. Swick; and a brother, Robert L. Garfield.
