Martha Marie Barnes

Martha Marie Barnes, 88, of Augusta, KS, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Andover. Visitation 11:00 a.m. with service following at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Church of Christ, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Martha was born in rural Minneapolis, KS on August 9, 1931, to the late Grace Eva (Burkholder) and Allen Jacob Heberly. She was a transportation director for the Andover School District. On February 1, 1950 she married Marvin K. Barnes in Minneapolis, KS and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2006. Martha was married to Merle Toon on Feb. 14, 2009 and he preceded her in death on April 26, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Lester, Robert, Donald, Maurice, Adrian, Clair, and Verlin Heberly; half sister, Lois Heberly. She is survived by: sons, Marvin Keith Barnes, Jr. and wife Sharon, Roger Allen Barnes and wife Aletha; grandchildren, Briony Smith and husband Nathan, Mallory Morton and husband Alan; great grandchildren, Brody, Jackson, and Tucker Morton.
