Michael Martin, 64, of Augusta, KS, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023 in Kansas City. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023 and service 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, both at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Michael was born in Wichita, KS on January 9, 1959, to the late Mary Louise (Arnold) and Harold Martin. He worked in the warehouse at Beech Aircraft for many years and later became a bus driver for Augusta Schools, Overland Charters, and LifeCare Center of Andover, KS. He enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, and going for a drive. He especially loved being with his grandchildren. On December 18, 1982 he married Jyneen (Mitchell) Martin at First Christian Church in Augusta, KS who survives him. He is also survived by: son, Will Martin of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Monica Carey and husband Seth of Augusta, KS; grandchildren, Brynn, Jordan, Londyn, and Brittyn Carey; brother, Harold Martin of Wilburton, OK; brother in law, Cameron Mitchell and wife Karen of Augusta, KS; sisters in law, Sheree Preston and husband Lance of Augusta, KS, Karrie Lockamy of Augusta, KS, Jynette Baxter and husband David of Augusta, KS, and Charlotte Martin Wichita, KS; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Martin; brother in law, Kyle Lockamy; sister in law, Anita Martin.
