Michael Loren Mcwilliams

Michael Loren McWilliams, 72, of Towanda, KS, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at home. Service 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Hope Community Church, Andover, KS. Burial will follow at Towanda Cemetery, Towanda, KS. Michael was born in Wichita, KS on October 17, 1946, to the late Nora Gene (Pyle) and James Rodney McWilliams.  He graduated from Circle High School where he played football and was involved in forensics, debate, and drama. Michael served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he worked several different jobs including working as an electrician, and working in a nuclear power plant. He was known as a jack of all trades and enjoyed doing many different things. Michael also lived several places including Oklahoma, New Mexico, and South Carolina.  In 2010 he married Brenda (Sommers) who survives him. He is also survived by: daughter, Lois Jantzen of Maize, KS; step son, Casey Johnston; step daughter, Cheyenne Johnston; step son, Cody Johnston; brother, John "Rocky" McWilliams and wife Beverly of Benton, KS; sister, Debra Wilson and husband Jimmie of Towanda, KS; grandchildren, Christian, Josh, Byron. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Naomi (McWilliams) Rilla; son, Ryan McWilliams. Memorial donations to Hope Community Church 1831 E. 21st Street Andover, KS 67002.
