Patrick Aden Hughes, 50, of Leon, KS, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023. Visitation 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Rosary 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church, Augusta, KS. Patrick was born in Wichita, KS on May 4, 1973, to Karen (Canfield) and Mike Hughes. Patrick was an active scout leader for the BSA Scout Troop in Towanda. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Augusta. Patrick was a very dedicated father, husband, brother, son, and uncle. He was a network computer specialist for the 299th Network Operation Squadron in Kansas with the National Guard Bureau and was very dedicated to his work and team. On August 13, 2004, he married Shannan (Duncan) Hughes who survives him. He is also survived by daughters, Kalirada, Amanda, Trinity, and Sophia Hughes; son, Jakob Hughes; brothers, Sean Fraser and wife Charlotte, Christopher Hughes and wife Tracy, Steven Hughes, David Hughes and wife Allison, Kevin Hughes and wife Lauren, and Daniel Hughes and wife Jennie; sisters, Marie Cope, Margaret Hughes, and Catherine Beaver and husband Julius; granddaughter, Autumn Hughes. Memorial donations to BSA Towanda Scout Troop 1232, c/o Rachelle Roosevelt, 7416 SW Saddle Rd., Augusta KS 67010 or St. James Catholic Church, 1012 Belmont Ave., Augusta, KS 67010. And we can’t finish this without a Dad joke since you couldn’t be around Patrick without hearing one; no matter how short your visit might be. “When I die, I want to be cremated. It’s my last chance to have a smokin’ hot body”.
