Peggy Jean Brunton

Peggy Jean Brunton, 76, of Wichita, KS, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 at home. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Peggy was born in Winfield, KS on August 21, 1947, to the late Imogene (Lackey) and John L. Wilson. She worked with children for most of her life and had worked as a lunch aid and a latchkey aid at Seltzer Elementary School. Peggy loved playing trivia and was an avid hockey and baseball fan who could be found at most Wichita Thunder Hockey games.  She was also a fan of Cardinals baseball, the KC Chiefs, and the Pittsburg Steelers. On June 14, 1980 she married Steven Paul Brunton. He preceded her in death in 2016. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara Rose; brother, John Wilson, Jr. She is survived by: sons, Donald Dean (Dianna Meyer), James Dean (Jeanine); daughters, Michelle Frazier (Marcus), Heather Dean (Chris Gibbs); sisters, Kathy Chestnut (Dennis), Jackie Schmidt (Alan); grandchildren, Joshua Dean, Brittany Pinckney, Chasity Soloman, Branden Pinckney, Amanda Pinckney, Brandon Dean, Kylie Dean, Connor Dean, and Morgan Dean; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
