Pete Roy Poore

Pete Roy Poore, 88, of Augusta, KS, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022 in Andover. Memorial service 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Pete was born in Stilwell, OK on August 10, 1934, to the late Dicie (Pence) and Marion Poore. He served in the U.S. Army Airborne. Pete was a construction contractor at Poore Brothers Construction and had also managed concrete plants for many years. He is survived by: wife, Betty Jean (Brown) Poore, sons, Glenn Poore, Jay Poore and wife Michelle, and Troy Poore and wife Jaime; brothers, Don Poore and Jay Poore; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; step sons, Doug and Mike Walker; step daughter, Sally Ferguson; 8 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Toniebelle Poore in 1978; brothers, Billy Poore, Paul Poore, and Joe Poore; sisters, Helen Cradduck, and Iris Emerson; step son, Jim Walker; step daughter, Vivienne Cass.
