Robert "Bob" D. Church, 77, beloved husband, Daddy, and Papa, of Augusta, KS, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
Bob was born in El Dorado, KS on January 8, 1947, to the late Pearl (Elgin) and Frank "Boone" Church. On June 24, 1966, he married the love of his life, Jaydena (Hatter) Church in Augusta, KS. She survives him. He is also survived by: his daughters, Stacy Maclaskey (Brian) of Burlington, KS; Carrie Metsker (Charley) of Leon, KS; Regina Sledge (Jason Edwards) of Wichita, KS; brother Kenny Church (Brenda) of Andover, KS; and grandchildren, Lainie and Kylie Metsker, Elyssa Sledge, Wyatt and Izzy Edwards, and Timothy "Tim" Maclaskey. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Calvin and stepfather, Clifford "Rosie" Dexter.
In his early years, Bob was a Police Officer and Firefighter for the Augusta Department of Public Safety. He also worked for Mobil Oil Refinery, and later retired from Holly Frontier. Bob also served on the White Eagle Credit Union board for many years, as well as being a volunteer firefighter for the Augusta Department of Safety.
Bob was lovingly referred to as "Dr. Doolittle" by his family due to his love of all animals.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 23 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Headley Funeral Chapel in Augusta, KS. Graveside service will be on Thursday. October 24 at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, KS, using the 12th Street entrance.
