Ronald John Sandfort, 61, of Augusta, KS, passed away Tuesday, June 25th, 2019 in Augusta. Memorial service to be held at 2:30 p.m. on October, 26th 2019 at Augusta United Methodist Church. Ronald was born in Wichita, Kansas on December 27, 1957, to the late Judy (Lane) and John Sandfort. He was an employee at Southwind Oil. Ron enjoyed the outdoors, especially being at the family ranch in Colorado. After a long day's work, he would sit out on his porch and listen to the sounds of the cicadas and enjoy the evening twilight. He loved working in the garden, especially with his cacti! He was known for his integrity, hard work and being there to lend a helping hand when his family or friends needed him. Ron also was one of the great conversationalists of the community and his stories will be missed and never forgotten. He is survived by: wife, Sharon Heffron of the home; daughter, Lesley Layne Sandfort of San Francisco; sons, Rory Evan Sandfort of Boise; John Philip Sandfort of Novato; and Ryan Lane Sandfort of Oklahoma City; brother, Steve Sandfort of Augusta; sister Jennifer Sandfort of Pennsylvania and grandchildren, Alexander, Devan, Evan, Sophia Lynn and Orion.
