Roxie Wheeler, 61, of Augusta, KS, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Visitation 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. with service following at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Augusta, KS. Roxie was born in Independence, KS on July 4, 1961, to the late Jeanne (Rowden) and Frank Wheeler. She graduated from East High School in Wichita, KS. She was a drafting clerk at Southwestern Bell for many years and had also been a Girl Scout Leader. She is survived by: daughter, Jessica James and husband Malik of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Brita Leibfried of Wichita, KS, Trina Wheeler of Albuquerque, NM, Ginger Jelenic of Portland, ME, and Mandy McNeil of Colville, WA; brother, Frank Wheeler of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Race James and Grey James; lifelong friend, Merlin "Woody" Wood.
