Shirley Audean Suther

Shirley AuDean Suther, 89, of Augusta, KS, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025. Memorial service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Private burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery Augusta, KS. Shirley was born in Wichita, KS on April 27, 1935, to the late Lara Rose (Greaves) and Charley Albott. She lived in Butler County all her life. Shirley worked as a cashier for Safeway and later was a secretary for Robinson Elementary School where she retired from. Her hobbies included sewing and working in the yard. She always looked forward to spring to get out and work with her flowers. Although she loved the flowers in her yard, she never picked one. To her, flowers were God's creation for everyone to enjoy. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church and the Loyal Heirs Sunday School Class. Shirley's true love was being a mom and homemaker. On April 11, 1953 she married Norbert Raymond Suther in Augusta, KS. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cyndy Malone; brother, William Albott; sister, Virginia Lang; great grandchild, Berkley McClure. She is survived by: son, Kurt Suther and wife B.J. of Amarillo, TX; son-in-law, Dave Malone of Augusta, KS; grandchildren, Matt Malone, Tiffany VanBuren (Jermaine), Meaghan McClure (Ben), Zack Suther (Dale), and Tyson Suther (Allison); great grandchildren, Kinsley Malone, Madison Griffith, Jermaine (Laurie), Jaiden, Lara, and Karis VanBuren, Elynn and Zain McClure, Cade and Nolan Suther, and August and Ava Suther.
